For the past three years, I’ve teamed up with two brilliant minds to put together what I think is a really cool example of branded content for Bucars RV (a great big RV dealership). Since 2010, I’ve been called in to work alongside the marketing genius of David Wald at Social Sesame and the deft hand of immensely creative designer Chris Pecora to create a magazine for Bucars RV to hand out trade shows and share at the dealership. Together, we work to capture the RVing experience in printed form.
My job every year is to write some of the content – and the big, glorious feature. This year was special, as I got the chance to shower love on Alberta, the province I’m lucky enough to call home.
The province is three times the size of Great Britain – so even though I’ve lived here for 26 fantastic years, I’m still discovering new things. From the small town with a Star Ship Enterprise in the centre to a historic hotel named for a Prince who never bothered to visit, Alberta’s got a whole lot of interesting stories packed under that big prairie sky.
The magazine is still headed to the presses, but you can check out some of last years’ content over in my portfolio. This is one of those feel-good projects that make you love your job. When you’re having so much fun, it’s hard to believe you’re getting paid for it.
Needless to say, I’m counting down until next year’s edition.
